SDOS is a low-cost contract that is broad in scope and easy and quick to implement.

What is SDOS

The Systems Development & Operations Support (SDOS) contract (NAS8-02060) is an Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract created to further the goals of the Agency by supporting Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

As the SDOS contractor, Teledyne Brown Engineering (TBE) is serving MSFC's ongoing programs and continuing our 40-year involvement in the Nation's lunar and planetary explorations.

TBE's team has extensive experience and capabilities in developing experimental hardware and supporting government operations in the broad fields of space science and exploration. Key areas of expertise include:

  • Hardware and software development, integration, operation, and maintenance of space facilities
  • Design, development, and integration of experimental systems for operation in extreme environments
  • Vehicle design, performance simulation, system optimization, mission analysis, and flight dynamics
  • High-performance materials, safety and reliability, training and human factors, and cost-performance trades

TBE has a rich heritage of accomplishments to draw upon in new endeavors.

  • Early activities included hardware selection and development for the Apollo lunar exploration, conceptual design of the High Energy Astronomy Observatory, and fabrication of experimental facilities for Skylab.
  • More recently, we integrated 24 Space Shuttle scientific missions, 8 Mir Space Station missions, and over 10 International Space Station missions, involving over 200 experiments in a variety of disciplines for users around the world.
